What should I wear to the interview?
Tuesday, 1st December 2009How you are dressed for an interview can give you perceived creditability or conversely will damage your chances even though you may be quite skilled. Right or wrong, people view others with a sharp image to have the answers and skills to do the job (at least until you start answering the questions). Have you ever interviewed for a job and a less talented person got it? If you really looked at it closely more often than not (if you are honest with yourself) that person has a very professional image. That image not only gives you a first impression edge but also shows you have respect for the interviewer, position, and the company.
Some examples of what to wear:
- Suit and Ties
- Dress Slacks and Tie
- Conservative skirt and blouse
Some examples of what not to wear:
- Tee Shirt
- Low Cut Shirt
- Sweat Shirt
- Flip Flop
- Tennis Shoes
